Dr. Silvia Mazzula is seeking an energetic and creative Social Media Research Intern to join her Racial Cultural Psychology Lab at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.  This is a unique opportunity focused on translating behavioral science research findings for the public. Individuals seeking to obtain valuable online media experience and work directly with a scholar, educator, and social justice advocate are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include assisting with the development of weekly/monthly content calendars and creation of social media images and graphics. Other responsibilities, including literature searchers, interaction with accounts, and assisting with distribution may be required.

Qualifications: Ideal Interns will have a good understanding of social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter), a working knowledge of interpreting social science publications, an active presence on social media, and will be self-motivated, able to work independently, and effective in managing their time. Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Canva is a plus. Prior experience in content creation, interest in psychology, or behavioral science research is preferable, but not necessary.

Commitment: Time commitment is 5-8 hours per week and participation in a weekly teleconference or in-person meetings. The majority of the work will be conducted electronically. These are not paid research assistant positions. However, John Jay College students may apply for work-study, if applicable and with prior approval.
